The eleventh Wind Band Festival returns to Scotland and takes place between Friday 23rd October and Sunday 25th October. The venue is the Erskine Bridge Hotel which is situated on the outskirts of Glasgow. This 3 star, 177 bedroom hotel is set in 18 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Clyde, close to the M8, Loch Lomond, Glasgow city centre and Glasgow Airport. For those travelling by air courtesy transport to and from Glasgow Airport is available. The hotel boasts a leisure and fitness club and an indoor swimming pool.
The cost for the weekend will be £170 per person (resident) and £60 per person (non-resident) inclusive of all music making, entertainment and tea/coffee, when served.
Residents' fee includes 2 nights' dinner, bed & breakfast & Sunday lunch. Non-residents' fee includes Saturday dinner. A single room supplement of £20 per person for the weekend is payable.
This year's festival is again being hosted by the Capital Concert Band from Edinburgh. They will be presenting a "Scottish Evening" on Friday, complete with a Ceilidh Band, Scottish Country Dancing and traditional Scottish food, including Haggis, Tatties and Neeps! (For the faint-hearted, English food will also be available). The Capital Concert Band have also kindly offered to supply music stands and large instruments such as Tubas, Euphoniums etc. so you don't have to worry about transporting them to Scotland
